My favourite Disney Movies!
Here is a list of my Top 15 Disney animated movies. I tried to make it a Top 10, but I just couldn't narrow it down! Here we go, starting with number 15...
14.Cinderella
Despite it being perhaps the most well known fairytale out there, I always felt that Cinderella lacked something. However, that didn't stop me dancing around to "Bibbity Bobbity Boo" and so it makes number 14. 12. Lady and the Tramp
This is such a cute story! And the scene with the spaghetti is one of the most memorable Disney moments ever... Definitely one of the films that is often forgotten amongst Disney fans and absolutely deserving of Number 12. 10. Alice in Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland is a story that's been done many times, but Disney's version is still my favourite and it earns Number 10 on the list. 8. Mulan
I've always been interested in history, but I'd never really learned anything about Chinese history until I watched Mulan. It's the film that inspired me to learn all about the emperors, terracotta army and the great wall of China, and it reaches number 8. 6. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
I loved this film when I was little, but I don't think I could really appereciate it properly until I got a bit older because of the theme of religion and the discrimination against the Gypsies. I still really like it though, it's often undervalued in the hierarchy of Disney films, but I think it's deserving of Number 6 for sure. 4. Beauty and the Beast
I didn't even see this film until 2 years ago, but It's become one of my all time favourites. As an added bonus, it also has a great moral that teaches children not to judge a book by it's cover.Plus, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs Potts and Chip are awesome! 2. Sleeping Beauty
This wasn't really one that I watched a lot, in fact I didn't watch it at all for years, but I recently re-watched it and it jumped straight up to Number 2 on the list. I much prefer the way Aurora looks in the original film compared to how she looks in the Disney merchandise and I think the blue dress is much nicer than the pink one, Still, it's my second favourite Disney animation. And now, onto my favourite Disney film of all time....And the winner is..*Drumroll*......... |
15.The Jungle Book
I watched this film so many times as a child and I still love the song "The Bear Necessities". It had tough competition from "Dumbo" but I definitely think this one deserves to be in the Top 15. 13. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
Snow White has all the elements of a great fairytale: An evil Queen, a beautiful, kind Princess and fluffy woodland creatures, but I think it's a shame that the charming prince only shows up right at the end of the story. I think the plot would have been far improved if the Prince and Snow White were engaged before the evil Queen tried to have her killed, giving the Hero a reason to search through the forest for his Princess. 11. Robin Hood
Now here's a non-fairytale based Disney Movie that I absolutely love! Disney's version of the Robin Hood myth, the outlaw who stole from the rich to give to the poor, is brilliant, and the cute animals and catchy songs only help to cement it's place as number 11 on my list. 9. Pocahontas
We're down into single digits! Pocahontas is an enchanting film, which surprisingly I never watched as a child. Fortunately, I've watched it enough times since then to be qualified to award it 9th place. 7. The Lion King
There will probably be a lot of indignant faces at the fact that Lion King didn't get any further than number 7, nearly every Disney fan I've ever met has told me that The Lion King is in their top 3. I think it's an amazing film, but there are others I like more. Hakuna Matata. 5. Hercules
I think Meg is one of the best Disney heroines of all time, and the Muses are hilarious. It's also a good way to get children interested in history. Number 5. 3.Aladdin
The only Disney Princess movie where the Princess isn't the main character. I think it's really clever how they managed to get the magic carpet to seem like a human and I love the songs. |
1. The Little Mermaid
Yep, The Little Mermaid is my favourite Disney film ever! Sebastian and Flounder are the best sidekicks in any Disney film and I may or may not have spent my entire childhood being in love with Prince Eric (Which I have totally grown out of now *clears throat*). When all of my friends said they wanted to grow up to be vets, actresses and popstars, I was completely dedicated to becoming a Mermaid and befriending all the creatures of the sea.And yes, I do know how sad that is, and no, I do not care.
